Investor Michal Zahradnicek, co-founder of LIFE bioCEEd, shared his vision for unlocking the untapped potential of Central and Eastern European science in a recent interview for Newstream.cz.

He believes that the region’s laboratories hold “unpolished diamonds” — promising biomedical discoveries that have yet to receive systematic attention and investment. LIFE bioCEEd aims to change that by identifying early-stage medical research projects and supporting their journey from the lab to real-world impact.

With an initial fund size of CZK 500 million and the ability to expand its investment capacity up to CZK 2 billion, LIFE bioCEEd focuses on bridging the gap between academia and industry through strategic funding, regulatory expertise, and licensing partnerships.
